SDSC Brings New Equipment Online
Oak Creek, WI – October, 2021 – Superior Die Set Corporation, a manufacturer supporting the metal stamping, injection molding and forging industries has just completed bringing several newer pieces of machining equipment online. “2020 created the perfect opportunity to reinvest some money into our capabilities to give us a more competitive edge. 2021 was the year of installing those purchases and beginning to make chips” said SDSC CEO, Martin Girga. The past year and a half the leadership team at Superior Die Set has spent significant dollars on newer technology to make its operations more dynamic and competitive. The company has taken to LinkedIn to chronicle some of the new additions including the installation of two new Doosan bridge mills. The bridge mills were a huge undertaking requiring intense foundational concrete work, and a lengthy installation process to bring them fully operational. But with their addition, the company is now able to machine large die sets extremely fast. Our 2020 Highlights
There’s no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year. As a business we had to learn how to work virtually where we could, and to protect our essential workers so they could support COVID-19 manufacturing efforts. In honor of our employees and in recognition of their hard work and dedication, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our 2020 highlights and accomplishments. . PEOPLE Part of our mission statement says we are dedicated to hiring, developing, retaining, and empowering employees to foster a safe work environment and build a high performing culture of excellence. Throughout 2020 we continued to work towards this and to invest in our talent. Employee Safety Throughout 2020 we took additional measures to keep our employees safe. Before any governing mask mandate was set, our employees were covering their faces while on-site. We also are very proud to report that we experienced no COVID-19 cases that were spread in the workplace throughout the pandemic. Another notable achievement is that we were able to reduce our OSHA recordable incidents by 50% – great job to our employees! MARKET OFFERINGS Another part of our mission states that we will help our customers grow by providing innovative solutions, creating new products and services, out pacing our competitors, and welcoming more value-added activities. Throughout 2020 we brought 4 products lines to the market. We launched an online ecommerce store to make doing business with us even more convenient. We also developed a new service called the ONEsourceTM Advantage, which has already seen 10 of our key customers sign long-term agreements. Additional information will be released in the near future as we unveil our ONEsourceTM Advantage product and service offering. . OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS Additionally, our mission states that it is important that we are always providing the highest form of customer satisfaction and value by consistently delivering best quality, precision products on time. Offering industry best lead times, and being receptive and responsive to customer needs. To improve our component availability, we consolidated our Greendale Precision Services division into our main Oak Creek facility. To plan and execute the move we used 3D printing and cell design to lay out operations before we relocated 45 machines and equipment to Oak Creek. To prepare Oak Creek, we had to move 15 machines to make space for the GPS equipment. To improve operational performance and better meet customer needs, we’ve invested in redesigning our processes and investing in newer and improved technologies. Superior Die Set Welcomes New Global Marketing Manager
Experienced Marketing Professional Joins the Company to Help Shape Brand Strategy Oak Creek, WI – January 20, 2021 – Superior Die Set Corporation announced the appointment of Maria VanHaverbeck as Global Marketing Manager. VanHaverbeck is stepping into the newly created role as Superior Die Set continues to strengthen its marketing efforts. Joining the company with a decade of experience, VanHaverbeck will be responsible for building the marketing department from the ground up, which involves a strategic plan to synchronize Superior Die Set’s brands, Greendale Precision Services and their Polish subsidiary, ProPlastica. “Maria will position us in the marketplace as a global leader; her education, background and experience in manufacturing make her a perfect fit for Superior Die Set,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Rodney Yeomans. Mark Ullstrup to Retire from Superior Die Set, Rodney Yeomans to serve as VP of Sales and Marketing
Oak Creek, WI – January 13, 2021 – Superior Die Set announced that Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mark Ullstrup, has decided to retire. Rodney Yeomans, Director of Sales will assume the VP role. Ullstrup has been with Superior Die Set (SDS) since 1981 spending his early days in mold base, moving to Customer Service Manager and finally VP of Sales. “Mark has left an enduring stamp on our business. His contribution to the organization will always be valued and remembered” said CEO, Martin Girga. During his career, Ullstrup has contributed to the greater manufacturing community through various industry associations including time spent as a member on the Precision Metalforming Association board. Rodney Yeomans has been promoted to take over the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. When asked about selecting Yeomans for the promotion, Girga stated, “Rodney brings the right blend of outside and inside experience, and deep industry insight to help us achieve our strategic priorities. He is well suited to lead our Sales and Marketing team into our second century of business.” A prominent career in manufacturing sales, Yeomans’ most notable experience comes from his time at Anchor Danly where he was responsible for leading their sales team in the Midwest. “I have been in manufacturing and metal forming virtually my whole life. My father and Grandfather both had die shops in Michigan which I worked in throughout high school and college” said Yeomans. Yeomans has spent the last 7 years working his way up at SDS starting as a sales manager, then regional sales manager where he invested time in building SDS’s dynamic sales team. The last three years Yeomans has been serving as the company’s Director of Sales. In his downtime Rodney enjoys fitness through participating in triathlons and running and biking with his wife Kelly.
